The Michigan Sickle Cell Data Collection team is comprised of staff from the Susan B. Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research (CHEAR) Center at the University of Michigan and the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS). CHEAR staff are responsible for data acquisition, data linkage, and analysis; MDHHS staff are responsible for the multidisciplinary team, communications plan, and providing data. Other stakeholder groups include Students & Trainees and Funders & Partners.

MiSCDC Multidisciplinary Team
The MiSCDC program engages a variety of stakeholders to help identify priorities, assuring that the information collected and generated by MiSCDC remains useful. Our partners can then use the data to help improve policy, healthcare practices, and treatments for people with SCD.
The MiSCDC Multidisciplinary Team has representatives from each of these areas of expertise:
People living with sickle cell disease
Families of people living with sickle cell disease
Community-Based Organizations
Public Health staff at MDHHS
Health information technology
Clinical care of children and adults with sickle cell diesease
Chronic disease data collection
Our multi-stakeholder collaborations have led to the formation of a Multidisciplinary Team. The mission of the MiSCDC Multidisciplinary Team is to:
Build and maintain relationships
Review MiSCDC data goals
Develop plans for utilization of MiSCDC findings
